Voluntary support with food deliveries

Schweizer Tafel provides direct and practical help to people in need in Switzerland by collecting around 30 tons of surplus, perfectly good food from retailers every day and distributing it free of charge to soup kitchens, homeless shelters, women’s refuges and other aid organizations.

Become a corporate partner and promote the social engagement of your employees. With flexible volunteering opportunities, your employees can get involved in projects that directly provide support for those in need. Support the soical integration and participation of disadvantaged individuals and make a statement for active solidarity.

    The volunteers go on tour with an experienced helper.

    The food is collected from retailers in a refrigerated vehicle.

    Around 60 to 70 boxes of food are transported per day and tour.

    Volunteers can make a meaningful contribution to combating food waste and helping people in difficult life situations: “Distributing instead of throwing away”.

    As a volunteer, you will be invited to a networking reception, where you can exchange ideas with other participants.

  • The assignments per employee can be planned flexibly.

    Registration should take place 4-6 weeks before the assignment.

    The meeting point is at approx. 7.30 am at the place of assignment (depending on the region).

    A short briefing takes place in the morning and then you are ready to go.

    A tour lasts 7-8 hours.

  • The food must be loaded and unloaded; a certain level of fitness is helpful.
